"And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blinded and unable to see the sun for a time." Acts 13:11
This morning I woke up at around 3am planning to go out to Zuma beach to do some landscaping of the shore side. Its been a while since I shot landscape so I thought why not. Before I headed out, I sought out inspiration for what I wanted to capture. I hate going out with no particular plan and thinking "maybe I'll get lucky today." During my devotion I read Acts 13 and the quote above is something that certainly caught my eye. In this chapter, Barnabas and Paul were called by the Lord to be sent out to Cyprus. At Cyprus, there was a false prophet that hoped to turn Barnabas and Paul away from their faith. However, Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit and said to the the false prophet the following:
"You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not
stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord? and now, behold, the hand of the Lord is
upon you, and you will be blinded unable to see the sun for a time."
After reading this passage, I went out hoping to capture not just the sunrise at the shore side, but the beauty of God's fingerprints over nature. I hoped to capture the beauty that was withheld from this false prophet. I take for granted the blessings and mercies that are upon me. I do not deserve the sight or knowledge that I have. By the grace of God, my vision has not been taken away.
So here are a couple of shots that will always remind me of the grace of God.
